Artist Jenn St. Onge and myself got to talking about comic conventions and the diversity of the invited guests. For many shows, the gaps are pretty staggering, and we got to wondering about how we could help fix that.
Our solution was to create a database of women, trans, and non-binary creators working in the industry that we could present to showrunners. The idea behind it is to have a readily available list of creators who’d love to be a guest at cons to help show the true representation of the people working in the industry.
While we’re hoping that the showrunners will be able to pull names from it, please note that we don’t guarantee that adding your name will result in more invitations.
There are always minimum requirements that most conventions look for in order to offer guest placements. Sometimes they’re a little looser while others require 2-3 published titles before they’ll consider you (or 1-2 big titles).
If you’d like to fill out the form and be added into the database, please visit our Google Form.
We included information required from most cons that determined whether or not someone would qualify as a guest. We’re open to suggestions, changes, and improvements to better serve our peers.
If you’re a convention showrunner and would like access to this list (or if you’re anyone else who has a question or inquiry), feel free to email info@creatorresource.com.
